Auto accidents are never fun for nobody. People have bad days, it’s the worst thing possible, but when you get in a car accident, there’s a lot of things that are running through your mind and some of the things you need to look out for is whether or not that person that crashed into you, whether they were driving for Uber or Lyft or any ride-sharing program.
Take a lot of pictures, do a lot of videos. It’s important to document all your injuries and document the facts, how the accident happened and if there are any witnesses. If there’s any witness, try to get their statements, or their names or phone numbers because that’ll help you tremendously. Call law enforcement because it’s important to call them because if not, we won’t have proper documentation for the actual accident.
Then later on, when that person lies, or if they do lie, later on, it’s going to be very helpful to have the police report, even though it may not be admissible in litigation, but it does help you in pre-suit. It does help you with liability if you’re involved in an auto accident.
So again, take a lot of pictures, videos, talk to witnesses, see if there’s any Uber or ridesharing, and you don’t have to go to the hospital if it’s not a substantial injury.
If you have pain, you can go to a facility, walk-in clinic, clinic, something like that, but you don’t have to go to the hospital just to document your injuries, because the bills are high. So, these are the quick things that you need to do if you’re involved in an auto accident. If you have any questions, give us a call, 813-421-3411.
