You’re probably wondering what are the insurance company looking at when they look at your claim? How do they value your claim? Well, they value it in multiple ways. One, they look at property damage. They look at the damage to your car to see how bad was the impact if, for example, if somebody rear-ended you, they look at the collision, the impact, the crushing, things like that. They look at your car, what type of car you have and what type of car the other person has as well. They also look at injuries. Injuries are, above all, the most important thing.
They look at, did their car, did the at-fault party, the other driver, did they substantially cause the injuries to your body or to your self? If the damage is small, the property damage is small, but the injuries are great, that becomes an issue, but at least, if they are higher injuries, it could still mean that they caused that accident. Then they look at history. Were you involved in other car accidents? Were you involved in other injuries? Slip, falls, anything of that nature. It’s very important for them to look at everything because the insurance companies, they’re not your friend.
They’re trying to value the case as low as possible, to offer as low as possible. That’s why they’re called adjusters. They’re adjusting the claim down. So, it’s very important for us to document everything correctly and it’s very important for us to create the story of your life. How has it affected you, not just your pain, but how has it affected your life? How has it affected your life with your kids? How has it affected your life with loved ones, hobbies, activities, things of that nature? So, it’s not just a one-size-fits-all, most people complain about back pain, it’s not just about back pain, it’s other issues that we use to complete the story to present the story to the insurance company. That’s how they value the injuries. Property damage is very important, in addition, the injuries are very important. So, everybody’s injuries are going to be a little bit differently, everybody’s going to be different in their own way. If you have any questions on this, feel free to give us a call at 813-421-3411.
