Whatever carries a large number of people would be considered a mass transit. Private commercial companies may have liability insurance that covers all the people within the car, up to a certain amount. Public entities, like government entities and things of that nature, only have, they’re self-insured, and they only have a cap of how much you can make a claim against, being that mass transit entity was negligent.
Now, with that being said, if the person that crashed into the bus, that person that crashed into the the Hartline bus or whatever the case is, that person that crashed into ’em is at fault, and if it’s a private entity, you don’t have to go through the commercial policy. You don’t have to go through the public entity. You can go after that person that crashed into you. If you have any questions about this, please give us a call, 813-421-3411.
