Everyone is busy during the holidays. There are just so many things to do here and there. People, in one way or the other, have to go out in the streets and do something. Unfortunately, this is also the time when there is an increase in pedestrian deaths by cars.
But the worse thing is, especially when the injury seems minor, people do not report the incident immediately. Most of them would think that it is not something they should worry about. But this is not the case. Not reporting it right away might just be one of the biggest mistakes one can ever make.
Here is a Tampa Attorney, Edward Reyes, recommending what needs to be done when such a thing happens and the importance of doing so.

We’ve reported it in the past Tampa Bay is one of the top areas in the country for pedestrian deaths by cars. One Tampa attorney Edward Reyes warns there’s a spike in accidents over the holidays due to travelers in town, but he also sees a trend of people waiting to report an accident until after the holidays, something he never recommends. If you find yourself in a pedestrian-car accident, he says the first thing to do is to report it right away.
Edward Reyes:
Take a picture of the license plate possible in case that person drives away. There are many cases that there’s a lot of hit and runs. This may be needed also when you call law enforcement. The reason why is because you need to document the actual incident itself and you need to call an attorney. It sounds kind of weird but it is because the insurance company on the other side, let’s say the at-fault party, their insurance company is looking for ways to incriminate you in some way because their adjusters are trying to adjust your claims down.
Reporter:
Reyes says just in Hillsborough County there are between two and three thousand car accidents every month.
