MEET MARIA REYES

Maria Jesús Reyes, Esq. is a Cuban American personal injury attorney who brings more than just legal knowledge to every case she brings grace, perseverance, and a deep sense of purpose rooted in faith and family.

Becoming an attorney wasn’t a passing interest it was Maria’s childhood dream. One of her earliest and most treasured memories is her late mother affectionately calling her an “abogada” (Spanish for “attorney”), because even as a little girl, Maria had a way of standing her ground. Her mother often joked that Maria could talk her way out of just about anything, but she always admired her daughter’s ability to advocate for herself and others.

Life, of course, had its own timeline. Maria became a mom at 15, earned her GED at 16, and didn’t return to school until she was 28. While raising two daughters, working full-time in the dental field, running a household, and standing beside her husband Edward as he built his legal career and businesses, Maria took just one or two college classes at a time. A two-year degree took her seven years, but giving up was never on the table.

She later earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of South Florida during the pandemic, and went on to law school, fulfilling the dream that had always been there. Even more special: she attended alongside her eldest daughter, the very one who made her a mother. They both graduated Cum Laude (with honors) and passed the Florida Bar on their first try a powerful, full-circle moment that affirmed what Maria always knew: God’s timing is perfect, and with faith and perseverance, no dream is ever out of reach.

Maria has been with The Reyes Firm since its founding in 2017. Her husband, Edward Reyes, is the firm’s founder and managing partner. While Edward has led the vision, Maria has supported every corner of the firm operations, case management, HR, and more. She’s the kind of person who steps in wherever she’s needed.

She gives all glory to God for her journey and considers it an honor to stand beside those who have been injured, offering not just legal guidance, but compassion, care, and the hope that better days are ahead.
